Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheung Yuet-ngor disappointed many when she noted that she has never watched ViuTV's Ossan's Love, a drama featuring gay romance that has resonated among many Hongkongers.
The drama features a middle-aged man's love for his younger male subordinate.
On the subject, Lam only noted that as members of a diverse society, Hongkongers should not discriminate against people of different sexual preferences. She further added that she trusts in the Equal Opportunities Commission to give the government appropriate advice on the matter.
Lam also had a few recommendations up her sleeve for those looking for new shows after Ossan's Love ended last week. She encouraged the public to watch The Glory of Youth, a military drama on RTHK that hails from the mainland. She had nothing but praise, calling it "inspirational" and "positive."
Lam also recommended the public watch the live broadcast of the Olympic Games at Olympic Live Zones across the city to support local athletes.
