Lost something on the MTR? Well, the rail operator claims there's no need to panic because it's set up an online platform for passengers to search and hopefully find lost items.
In the past, passengers could only report to customer service centers or call the lost property office. Now they can head online to report a loss through the MTR mobile app or website.
Passengers must state when and where an item was lost along with a description.
Then, after providing personal information, a case number is sent to their e-mail address. With that number a person can check online for the latest status of an item.
And if the journey ends happily with a lost item found there's an e-mail to inform a loser they've just regained their item. That can be claimed at a station or at the MTR's Lost Property and Concessionary Travel Office.
If a lost item is not found after seven days a person can expect an e-mail with an update on progress - or lack of.
