Mother's Day this year was a special one for Priscilla Leung Mei-fun.
The Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong lawmaker uploaded a video showing a delivery from her son - which included a bouquet and a cup of soup - that was sent to her office.
After reading a text message from her son wishing her a Happy Mother's Day, the legislator, who was all smiles, tried out the soup. Her verdict? It tasted good, she said.
Multiple lawmakers who are mothers went out to distribute flowers yesterday. One of them was the New People's Party's Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee.
She said that instead of flowers, children could give their mothers health-related gifts, such as smartwatches so they can keep track of their heath, and recommended families go to the countryside to celebrate because of the pandemic.
She also showed off her own array of Mother's day gifts - roses, dark chocolate truffles and a card from her daughter.
