Show fountain beats the bubbles

Central Station | 4 May 2021

The music fountain is back on. After a week's break, the HK$50 million fountain at Kwun Tong Promenade reopened yesterday after it puked bubbles.

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced yesterday that the music fountain and interactive wet play areas at the promenade are welcoming visitors again after thorough cleaning and a pool water test.

It appealed to the public to be "civil" when using the facilities, and said it will step up patrols there to monitor operations.

This came after the government threatened to take action against actor Wong Kar-wai, a 100Most celebrity known by his stage name Tung Fong-shing, after he gave himself a soapy shower at the fountain.
