The painful experience of losing HK$500,000 on cryptocurrencies has prompted inventor Stark Chan Yik-hei, known as "Son of the Star," to create a safe-proof instant messaging application which comes with a cryptocurrency wallet.
The first such app in Hong Kong, Talk+ is an end-to-end encrypted messaging app which promises a high level of data protection for its users.
It ensures no third party will have access to the conversations exchanged, and allows the removal of sent messages even after they have been received on the other end.
Its wallet supports 10 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Tether and EOS, among others. Users can transfer cryptocurrency to people they are communicating with.
Chan decided to work on the app following his own painful experience of losing HK$500,000 after he lost his private key to his cryptocurrency. By incorporating crypto features to a messaging app, Chan and his team said it will make it less likely that users will lose their private keys.
