Top cops act their parts in video

Central Station | 21 Jan 2021

High-ranking police officers including Deputy Police Commissioner Raymond Siu Chak-yee became actors in a promotional video for the force.

More than 600 officers from over 15 departments, including Special Duties Unit, Airport Security Unit, Counter Terrorism Response Unit and Railway Response Team, took part in filming, with the help of the Government Flying Service and Airport Authority.

The video trailer shows the city in danger of a bomb attack by terrorists and citizens have been held hostage. Police tackle the terrorists and evacuate people from an MTR station.

In the regional command and control center at police headquarters, operations commander Siu says: "Twenty minutes later, action, save the hostages.

"Just cut the nonsense, I'll release your accomplice, but have you got what it takes to get away?" he asks.

Also in the control center with Siu is the Police Tactical Unit's commandant, Chan Kin-kwok.

An important police officer also plays a "small role" in the video. Citizens will find out when the video is released on TVB Jade on Saturday at 10.30pm.
