Hong Kong Television Network (1137) chairman Ricky Wong Wai-kay the launch an online flower fair on its e-commerce platform HKTVmall.
HKTVmall announced that it would invite Hong Kong florists to engage in a short-term cooperation to sell flowers for no listing fee.
However, the florists will need to pay a 3 percent commission and a 2 percent credit card fee to sell flowers to more than 2.3 million HKTVmall customers via online shops.
Flower growers will not need to pay fees, but will be responsible for the delivery. Customers will also need to pay attention to shipping arrangements, said the company.
This came after the Hong Kong government canceled the Lunar New Year Fair, also known as the flower market, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The group said it hopes to help local florists to widen the sale channel and explore a new source of income through this event.
The company also called on Hong Kong people to support local flower farmers and work together to overcome adversity.
