Consumer chief chairs cancer quest

With former Consumer Council chief executive and Ombudsman Connie Lau Yin-hing, never say "retired."

Lau has just taken up the CEO post at Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation as of last Wednesday.

She had joined the Consumer Council for 38 years before serving as Ombudsman from 2014 to 2019.

Lau said the biggest challenge of her transition from the post of Ombudsman to her current role at the foundation is the different nature of the posts, with the former being related to public administration and the latter being related to public health.

But Eliza Fok Ho Yi-wah, the chairman of the foundation, said that Lau's experience in public administration will help the foundation accomplish its mission.
