Turtles return to warm summer watersCentral Station | 23 Jun 2020
Seven Green Turtles cooled off in Hong Kong's blue waters after being released by Ocean Park.
The turtles ventured out into southern waters yesterday after being kept temporarily for veterinarian care.
Three were originally caught by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, while the others were rescued along the territory's eastern waterfronts.
The Green Turtle is a globally endangered species and is the only sea turtle species known to nest locally.
Before their release, the department tagged each turtle in order to track theirs movements and help with future identification.
The tags will also provide data to assist conservation future efforts.
