Where in the world is Edward Leung?Central Station | 28 May 2020
There were a lot of red faces at the University of Hong Kong yesterday after it was forced to restore the headshot of jailed localist Edward Leung Tin-kei in a group photo with the late "Casino King" Stanley Ho Hung-sun.
The university posted photos of HKU alumnus Ho with students and residents of Ho's former student residence Ricci Hall after the tycoon passed away on Tuesday.
But netizens noticed one photo of Ho alongside Ricci residents was oddly proportioned.
Some HKU alumni posted an unedited version of the photo taken at the hall's 85th anniversary in 2014, with Leung spotted in the front row, and questioned whether the university had deliberately cropped him out.
Leung was a former spokesman for localist group Hong Kong Indigenous and in 2018 was jailed for six years for rioting in Mong Kok on the first night of Lunar New Year holiday in 2016.
HKU has now replaced the cropped photo with the original.
