Chips fly off old block of TrumpCentral Station | 12 Nov 2019
Donald Trump Jr's appearance at a university to talk about his hate book on liberals and free speech ended in a row as he'd not take questions.
Some in the audience of about 450 people at the University of California, Los Angeles, voiced anger that Trump Jr and his partner, one-time Fox News "personality" Kimberly Guilfoyle, declined to take questions because of time constraints.
Yet he was there to promote his book Triggered: How The Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us.
Shouts of "USA! USA!'' had sounded when he appeared onstage, but then came hostile chants of "Q and A! Q and A!" when the audience heard he'd not take questions.
The 41-year-old divorced father of five told the audience that answers risked creating soundbites that "leftwing social media posters" would distort.
Then Guilfoyle, 50, snapped that the audience was rude, which was a cue for her and Trump Jr to stalk off.
Outside, protesters led by the LA chapter of Refuse Fascism chanted "UCLA protects fascists" and "humanity first.''
But Andy Stein, a supporter of President Donald Trump, said he sees Junior as a "chip off the old block'' and admires his "feistiness."
