Disney castle set for facelift

Central Station | 11 Dec 2017

Hong Kong Disneyland's 23.5-meter-tall castle will no longer be the smallest in the world once it is renovated.

The new look will include a "fresh, uplifting design that reaches ever skyward."

The castle will pay tribute to 13 Disney princesses and reflect the cosmopolitan character of Hong Kong.

Guests will see decorations on some spires, such as Snow White's apple, Cinderella's coach and Belle's rose.

Originally called Sleeping Beauty Castle, the structure is set to be renamed, with 13 princesses joining.

The renovations come after Disney announced a HK$10.9 billion multi-year expansion project in late November.
