Business | Staff reporter 24 Sep 2020

The Hong Kong Bankers Club will move out of the Gloucester Tower, Landmark, in Central tomorrow, ending nearly four decades of operation in the city's benchmark grade-A commercial building.

The club will move to Nexxus Building, formally known as Hang Seng Building, on Connaught Road in Central.

The club was founded in 1977 by 10 leading overseas bankers in Hong Kong, offering a social platform for top financial professionals. Its membership has grown to include most of the city's major banks and many independent professionals.

It has more than 2,000 members and it is one of the major pivots of Hong Kong's financial and business community.

It formally changed its name from The Hong Kong Overseas Bankers Club to The Hong Kong Bankers Club in December 1995 to reflect its internationalizing process.
