China Railway Construction Corporation (1186) chairman Meng Fengchao said at a summit yesterday that the company is willing to work with MTR Corporation (0066) to develop projects related to One Belt One Road.
He said mainland and Hong Kong companies can produce a complementary effect, with CRCC having experience and technology in railway construction and MTRC having international experience.
Combining business operations with construction will be beneficial to the development of One Belt One Road projects, Meng added.
MTR Corp chairman Frederick Ma Si-hang said Hong Kong corporations can join hands with mainland corporations to invest in projects. MTR Corp has already signed a memorandum of understanding with China Railway (0390) to jointly invest in overseas markets.
