Montblanc's Star Legacy line is inspired by the Minerva pocket watches of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The modern timepieces stand out with their round, polished pebble-shaped cases, which resemble those found on antique pocket watches, onion-shaped crowns with the Montblanc emblem and dials with the iconic exploding star guilloche pattern.
New releases include the 43mm Star Legacy Automatic Date and Chronograph Day & Date as well as two Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum models. For its new models, Montblanc reinterpreted its Orbis Terrarum complication, first launched in 2014.
The redesigned dials are constructed in two layers that rotate with the movement's mechanism. Rhodium or rose gold metallic coating is applied directly on the sapphire top disc to make the continents and meridians stand out from the seas and oceans, giving a three-dimensional effect.
