All hail Excalibur!

Roger Dubuis, the founder and mastermind behind his eponymous luxury watch label, passed away on October 14.

Unique designs, alongside unconventional materials, have been the core of the Swiss watchmaker's creations.

A case in point is its Excalibur Original Chrome Cobalt Micro-Melt timepiece. The metallurgy is a feat. An alternative to stainless steel, the alloy remains bright and durable even under extreme conditions. That's why the alloy is frequently used in the aerospace industry. The decision to use this high- tech material in timepieces is daring and exceptional.

Recently, the label teamed up with Formula One tire supplier Pirelli to add oomph to the Excalibur collection. Taking its design cues from the motor sport, the technical pieces embody the watchmaker's ethos of exclusivity and technical sophistication.

For instance, the Excalibur Spider Pirelli Automatic Skeleton uses rubber inlays from Formula One winning tires as strap.

The synergy does not only impress traditional clientele, but motoring enthusiasts as well. Another standout quality is the signature skeleton dial, which offers a glimpse of the jewel- embellished caliber.
