McClamp on evening dine-in servicesTop News | Maisy Mok 25 Mar 2020
All McDonald's restaurants will stop dining-in services after 6pm for two weeks starting from tonight.
The fast-food chain said only takeaway and delivery services will be provided after 6pm at all non-24-hour McDonald's restaurants and 24-hour restaurants, starting from tonight till April 7.
"We hope adjusting our operating model to discourage dining-in and only providing takeaways and delivery services will reduce social interaction and further enhance the safety of our employees and customers," said Randy Lai Wai-sze,CEO of McDonald's Hong Kong.
The 24-hour restaurants will resume dining-in service at 4am every day. For others, the starting time might differ as shops open at different times.
No delivery fee will be charged between 6pm to 12am when using the 24-hour delivery service starting from today.
The company said the decision was made to compliment the new service arrangement and to help boost Hongkongers' spirits. Restaurants will not provide any dining-in and take-away services for persons under compulsory quarantine.
McDonald's have also introduced changes in their overseas franchises amid the pandemic.
All McDonald's restaurants closed in Britain and Ireland from Monday, including for takeout.
