IPCC report postponed

Top News | 17 Jan 2020

The Independent Police Complaints Council yesterday announced it is postponing publication of its first interim report on police practices during the social unrest.

The IPCC earlier said it would submit its report to the chief executive this month and later released to the public.

But it said yesterday its members agreed to the postponement until the High Court rules on the judicial review filed last month challenging that it had gone beyond its statutory powers by proactively looking into the protests.

A hearing has yet to be set.
