How do I prepare my child for the IB Diploma Degree?Education | 11 Oct 2021
Most students studying for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) may have a pretty good idea what the curriculum is. The curriculum is made up of the DP core elements and six subject groups. Students taking the IB take six subjects which are chosen from specific subject groups. Normally three subjects are taken at Higher Level and three are taken at Standard Level. Students also complete an Extended Essay, study the Theory of Knowledge, and have Creativity, Action and Service requirements.
Higher education institutions around the world admit students based on their IB credentials, with the scores of the three Higher Level subjects being their primary focus. This is particularly true for students who wish to study Science or Engineering at University. Many University courses require specific knowledge of certain subjects, and they may expect students to achieve Grade 6 or 7 in these subjects at Higher Level.
The courses offered by Genius Development Workshop cover all the main topics required in the IB Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science Curriculum. We also help students prepare for other International Exams, including IGCSE, A-Level, AP, ACT, HKDSE, Gaokao, and Entrance Exam for top Universities in the world.
Here at Genius Development Workshop, we help students see the connections between the different subfields of science. We help students realize the fact that everything in the world is inherently linked in an inextricable manner. Everyone at Genius Development Workshop believes that it is of the utmost importance to broaden the horizons of students and let them approach Science and Engineering from a holistic perspective. We also help students to study ahead so that their thirst for knowledge of Science and Technology can be slaked.
For example, the force between objects that we learn in Physics is actually a manifestation of the mutual repulsion between electrons that we learn in Chemistry. Although Physics and Chemistry are independent disciplines, many of these physical and chemical phenomena are the same, and we just look at them from different perspectives.
Come to Genius Development Workshop and discover how much fun Physics, Chemistry and Biology are!
