Nurturing multilingual preschoolers

Education | 4 Aug 2020

Lou Pichoun, established in 1997, is a French international kindergarten offering preschool and playgroup education to toddlers and children aged between 15 months and six years old in a multilingual setting. Its campuses in Stanley, Happy Valley and Tseung Kwan O boast an inclusive community with students coming from a vast array of nationalities.

Following the French National Education Official Bulletin and relevant guidelines regarding the programs and objectives, Lou Pichoun's French curriculum attaches great importance to both the academic and artistic development of children. Its trilingual programme cultivates students' language skills in French, English and Putonghua, and seeks to widen their exposure to different languages starting from early childhood.

At Lou Pichoun French International Preschool, the diversified theme-based classes are curated to encourage students to discover, achieve and build self-confidence, alongside engaging art-infused learning; whereas the playgroup provides interactive activities that develop kids' emotional, cognitive, physical and social skills.

Currently, Lou Pichoun Tseung Kwan O is in the process of obtaining the AEFE certification for its French program. AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad), the government institution supervised by the French ministry of foreign affairs, is responsible for monitoring the quality of 500 accredited French schools abroad. Once the school is accredited the AEFE certification, it will further facilitate students' transition and enrollment into AEFE network schools worldwide.
