The ideal work-from-home companion

Samsung is obviously going for the work-from-home crowd with its new Notebook Plus2 (from HK$4,580).

The compact laptop hits all the right buttons. It has an enviable thickness of only 18.85 millimeters and a body weight of only 1.81 kilograms. And yet, its screen is a practical 15.6 inches with a 6.95-millimeter ultra-narrow bezel - giving it a screen-to-body ratio up to 81 percent and allowing for better-quality high-definition display.

For added comfort, the keyboard and touchpad have been improved from the earlier Samsung laptops, with wider keys and a bigger touchpad to ensure that users will not feel tired even after long hours.

But practicality and comfort do not come at the expense of speed. The Notebook Plus2 is equipped with the latest Intel 11th-generation processor, which brings better and smoother performance. It is a perfect companion to complete daily tasks, including writing reports, browsing online data or running multiple applications to cope with different tasks simultaneously.

Also, the Notebook Plus2 has a dual storage system featuring a solid state drive as well as a hard disk drive. The former ensures the laptop boots and launches apps quickly, while the latter enlarges storage space so that users can save plenty of files.

Special doors on the bottom allow users to increase the computer's memory and storage space, as well as upgrade its operating speed and storage capacity.

Those who are fed up with Apple's many conversion dongles will welcome the multi-function ports on the side of the laptop.

In addition, the machine is loaded with 3D LUT to provide richer and more-layered color for a high-quality visual experience.

The notebook is available in the classic colors of Mystic Gray and Pure White. Buy one before March 31 to get free earbuds and a wireless dual-mode portable mouse (valued at HK$796).
