The coronavirus outbreak in the UK has changed the locals’ lifestyle and the way they work. With the current lockdown and the trend of working from home, there is now a rocketing need for personal working space and quality living.

The property market reports that, the average property price of nearly £300,000 has set a new record in September. Buyers have shifted from focusing on central London to areas around London where property prices are lower and with more spacious residential units.

“Luton, located at the north of London, is now one of the highly sought-after new towns as homes there are priced at merely 70% of those in London,” says Mr. Amous Lee, CEO & Partner of FMI.

Luton is the fastest growing town in close proximity to London, with median property prices rising by more than 400% over the last two decades. Benefitting from the ambitious £1.5 billion inward investment programme launched by Luton Borough Council, it is working in partnership with major investors and developers on a number of schemes which are expected to create more than 18,500 new jobs for the city.

As part of a wider regeneration of the area, the contemporary development - LU2ON - is a brand-new neighbourhood for the next generation of homeowners developed by Strawberry Star Homes.

Located in Luton, apartments at LU2ON are spacious and efficiently designed with high-specification and design-focused finishes throughout. The suites, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments, ranging from 398 to 732 sq ft, boast plentiful storage and floor-to-ceiling glazing in both the living area and bedrooms, allowing the homes to bring in an abundance of good-quality natural light throughout the day. Each apartment has access to multi-level private roof gardens.

Central to LU2ON is an attractive, European-style, tree-lined boulevard, which runs through the heart of the scheme. It brings together modern apartments with vibrant shops, places to eat and drink, a gym, hotel, health and wellness centre, parklands and a public piazza. This commercial avenue is also home to a host of gardens, bars, cafés, coffee shops, restaurants, an 8,000 sqft on-site gym, retail space of approximately 50,000 sq. ft, and conference centre, together with a 24-hour concierge service. Additional outdoor spaces can be found on roof decks, offering impressive views and a quiet spot to lounge after work or at the weekends.

“There are plenty of gardens and park areas throughout LU2ON. Aside from the obvious health benefits, living amongst greenery just makes everything feel better,” stresses Caren Chiu, Director at DWG Hong Kong.

The development is also situated at the heart of one of the region’s most important historical sites - the former Vauxhall Motors factory - where some of Britain’s iconic and best-loved cars were built.
Luton has the advantage of being within the ‘Golden Triangle’ of Cambridge, Oxford and London, which is home to some of the world’s top universities. It is also a 25-minute walk to University of Bedfordshire.

Connectivity

Just a 2-minute walk to the railway station, residents can get to King’s Cross St. Pancras at central London in 23 minutes with fast direct trains, and access Luton London airport in less than 4 minutes. With flights to 154 flights, taking a short getaway will now be a new reality for you. Some of the most popular destinations served by London Luton Airport are Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, Dubai and Florida.

The nearby Kimpton Road has a number of bus stops with services running throughout Luton, Bedfordshire and beyond. The Luton-Dunstable Busway links Luton town centre to both the Airport and Dunstable. This guided bus route is claimed as the second longest guided bus route in the world, meaning you can get to your destination quickly, without getting stuck in traffic.

LU2ON is within easy access of the M1 motorway, which also joins up with routes to the M6 (the north) and M25 (which runs around London), meaning that if you wish to drive into Central London, you can get there in 70 minutes.

For those who prefer travelling by bike, there’s a national cycle route just 150m away from LU2ON. Secure, internal cycle storage is available for residents throughout LU2ON, with outdoor classic Sheffield bike stands also dotted throughout the development.

Scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2021, LU2ON features a 999-year leasehold with prices starting at only £250,000 for 1-bedroom units (506 sq. ft.) and £300,000 for 2-bedroom units (624 sq. ft.).
