This year, there are different booths of Macao Portuguese-speaking communities from ten countries or regions joining the festival, including Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Goa, Daman and Diu, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, East Timor and Macao, introducing their respective traditional music, photographs, arts and crafts, costumes, literature and gastronomy.

For each day of the Festival, performing groups from nine Portuguese-speaking countries and regions will perform different styles of music and dance. Several local art groups will also perform at the Carmo Square. There will also be a temporary restaurant serving mouth-watering Portuguese flavour and dishes, and authentic Portuguese grilled food and specialties from different Portuguese-speaking countries and regions.

That’s not all! Visitors of all ages can even participate in traditional Portuguese games and table football tournaments, as well as various children’s games, fully experiencing the Portuguese cultural, and having a great time in a fun, festive atmosphere.

With 2019 marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR government, Macao’s Sino- Portuguese historical background also makes the city the most ideal location to roll-out a rich program of tourism congregations focusing on China-Latin America markets, with Argentina and Brazil being named as Partner Countries of 2019, addressing the growing demand in Macao as a international tourist centre.
