Get set, go on MTR for National Day runs

There's never been a better time for MTR passengers to meet friends and family, participate in National Day celebratory activities and enjoy the fireworks display over Victoria Harbour by taking frequency-enhanced MTR trains, and even enjoy a 25 percent fare discount when paying for the trips with Octopus on October 1.

To facilitate locals and tourists visiting various attractions in Hong Kong, enhanced service will start this Saturday to the Chung Yeung Festival long weekend, with a total of about 950 extra train trips added between Saturday and October 13. On National Day, train frequencies of eight railway lines will be increased in the afternoon and evening, with those on the Island Line, Tsuen Wan Line and Kwun Tong Line increased to about every three minutes in the evening.

Train services of the Tuen Ma Line will be enhanced during certain periods in the evening with trains running about every 3 to 4 minutes. The South Island Line is also getting a boost.
