Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu announced that deepening reform and prioritizing public welfare will be the central focus of his upcoming 2025 Policy Address, revealed during a press briefing ahead of the Executive Council meeting on Tuesday morning.
The report, to be delivered on Wednesday, will retain the color green as the cover. Lee explained that the color symbolizes vitality and continuity, representing the government's commitment to sustaining its policies and the city’s prosperous energy.
The Hong Kong leader emphasized that the formulation of this Policy Address was informed by an extensive consultation process, including over 40 consultation sessions and direct engagements with the community. The government received a total of 10,100 submissions through various channels.
In a further elaboration on social media, Lee stated that the theme reflects his administration’s consistent focus on public welfare.
He noted that the government aims to leverage Hong Kong’s strengths and drive economic development through reform, with all efforts ultimately directed toward improving people’s livelihoods.
“As long as we stay united, strive for self-improvement, seize opportunities, and pursue reform,” he wrote, “Hong Kong will surely create a brighter future together.”
