Hong Kong’s first purpose-built mid-sized music venue, Tides, is set to open in the ship-shaped Whampoa complex in Kowloon.
Designed by Live Nation, the main organizer behind Coldplay’s concerts at Kai Tak Sports Park, the venue will accommodate 1,500 attendees and is projected to host up to 250 events annually.
The space features built-in sound, lighting, and flexible staging, plug-and-play operations, addressing a gap in Hong Kong’s entertainment market.
It also includes state-of-the-art artist facilities, support areas, and lounges for pre- and post-event gatherings.

Stephanie Bax, President of Venue Development Asia at Live Nation, emphasized that the design of the venue prioritizes efficient setup, facilitating acts to include Hong Kong in their tour plans.
She stated that Tides is expected to provide international and local artists a professional platform to grow their fan base, with integrated production and a layout built for audience connection.
"The launch of Tides will help nurture local talent and enhance the performance scene in Hong Kong," said Lisa Hui Ping-sum, Chairlady of the Hong Kong Performing Arts Industry Association.
Beyond concerts, the venue is open to host brand activations, corporate functions, and mid-scale productions, offering promoters and sponsors a versatile event space.
