A ruptured underground saltwater pipe turned a Tsuen Wan street into an unexpected water spectacle late Friday night.

The incident occurred at around 11pm yesterday on Chuen Lung Street, near No. 123, where a six-inch pipe had burst, sending a powerful jet of water shooting up to three storeys high—resembling an "urban fountain." The force of the gushing water was so strong that it damaged the road surface at the rupture point.
Water Services Department personnel quickly arrived at the scene, closing off a section of Chuen Lung Street between Ho Pui Street and Sun Chuen Street. Crews shut off the main valve to stop the flow and began repairs.
No injuries were reported, but the dramatic scene drew attention from onlookers as the high-pressure spray continued until the water supply was cut off.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the pipe failure.
