Cat dies after falling from Shek Kip Mei public housing block

A tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning at Shek Kip Mei's Pak Tin Estate, where a cat fell to its death from a residential building.

At around 11am, the feline plunged from Lai Tin House, landing on a first-floor canopy. Police arrived at the scene and confirmed the cat had succumbed to severe injuries. 

Authorities are now attempting to locate the owner and determine the cause behind the fall.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) was called to assist with the case.

Animal welfare advocates have long reminded pet owners to install window screens or safety nets to prevent similar tragedies, particularly in urban areas with dense housing.

An investigation is ongoing.
