A two-day "Building a Multicultural Workplace Job Fair" will offer more than 3,100 vacancies for job seekers, especially for ethnic minority communities, starting today.
Co-organized by the Labour Department (LD) and the Democratic Alliance for the Better and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) Ethnic Minorities Committee, the event at Mong Kok MacPherson Stadium features about 50 organizations, including the five major discipline services -- Correctional Services Department, Customs, Fire Services Department, Police Force, and Immigration Department.
There will be around 25 organizations setting up booths for on-the-spot recruitment, providing a wide array of positions ranging from engineer, accounting officer, aircraft maintenance mechanic trainee, and roles within the disciplined services.
Meanwhile, on-site interpretation services in Hindi, Urdu and Nepali will be available and the DAB Ethnic Minority Committee will introduce its support services and training courses for ethnic minorities.
Around 80 percent of the vacancies are full-time positions, with monthly salaries ranging from HK$13,000 to HK$21,000.
Most of these vacancies require a Secondary Seven education level or below and about 58 percent do not require prior work experience.
The fair will be held until Thursday (Nov 14) with free entry, job seekers can submit their applications on-site or inquire about employment services at the LD's booth.
