Police were alerted to Sham Shui Po Monday morning after two stores were burglarized during the typhoon, incurring losses of more than HK$18,000 in total.
Around 9 a.m. today, a store owner named Chan returned to her business located on 115 Kweilin Street and contacted the police for assistance after finding signs of looting.
The police arrived at the scene and combed through the security camera footage.
After recounting, it was discovered that about HK$3,000 in cash was lost in the burglary.
At the same time, the officers also discovered that another store in the location had been burglarized, and it is believed to be an act involving two burglars.
After an investigation, the second store was found to have been robbed of HK$15,000 in cash.
The incident has been listed as a serial burglary case and handed over to the Sham Shui Po police district.
No arrests have been made so far.
