Japan to impose 95.2pc anti-dumping duties on China's graphite electrodes until 2030

Japan has decided to impose 95.2 percent anti-dumping duties on graphite electrodes from China for five years starting next month, the finance ministry said on Friday, solidifying a provisional measure it implemented in March.

The duties aim to protect Japanese makers of graphite electrodes, an industrial material used in electric arc furnace steelmaking, from unfairly low-price imports from China, according to the ministry.

The definitive duty will be imposed from next Thursday until July 2, 2030, it said in a statement.
