The Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS) is expanding its early childhood education offerings with the addition of a new campus in Wong Chuk Hang. Slated to open in August 2024, the new Southside campus will feature state-of-the-art facilities for CDNIS’s popular bilingual early years programme.
The programme currently serves three-year-olds in Early Years 1 classes. At the new campus, CDNIS will introduce a bilingual Nursery Programme for two-year-olds, allowing the school to reach younger students and further its mission of early bilingual education. Renovations to the 14,000-square-foot facility are underway, with an emphasis on creative, engaging learning spaces to spark children’s natural curiosity.
CDNIS attributes its success to integrating the International Baccalaureate (IB) inquiry approach into its early years curriculum. This ignites students’ love of learning and equips them with skills like problem-solving – critical for navigating today’s globalized world. Small class sizes and experienced teachers also ensure individualized attention.
According to Head of School Dr. Tim Kaiser, the expansion will “prepare students for success in a global society.” Senior Director Dr. Wil Chan agrees, saying the new campus will “redefine our commitment to an age-appropriate bilingual experience.” Applications for the Nursery programme are expected to open in April 2024, pending government approval. Interested families can stay updated by submitting an expression of interest form on the school’s website.
With state-of-the-art facilities and a dedication to early bilingual education, the new CDNIS campus promises to give Hong Kong’s young learners an exceptional start.
