Hong Kong police are investigating a case of a straight pin being planted in a New World First Bus bus seat, after a female passenger was injured during her bus ride Thursday morning.

The 29-year-old woman was injured in the hip by a protruding straight pin when she boarded a route 2A bus in Quarry Bay at 8.12am this morning.

It was understood that the straight pin was sticking out of a seat on the lower deck of the bus.

The woman then reported the incident to the bus driver, with police officers later called in, retrieving surveillance footage of the bus and the pin for further investigation.

The woman was taken to Eastern Hospital for medical treatment.
