ViuTV's reality show The Couples' Gambit has attracted 40 complaints saying that it is vulgar and encourages extramarital affairs.

The show invited four married couples to play games for a prize.

One episode features “part-time girlfriends” playing games with the husbands and touching them on a yacht. Then they were secretly replaced by the husbands' wives who continued the sexy interactions.

Among the couples, Teris and her blindfolded husband Dennis ate two ends of the same candy and ended up kissing. As the husband did not know the “girlfriends” were in fact their wives, Teris felt he betrayed her. She slapped him and stormed off the yacht, and uploaded a black and white photo of her with Dennis with the caption "RIP."

While the show attracted attention due to its controversial content, it also drew complaints – the Communications Authority received 40 complaints for six episodes of the reality show since it started airing on October 11.

Complainers said the show is vulgar, obscene and encourages affairs. The authority said it will handle the complaints in accordance to the established mechanism.
