Cabbie murder suspect sees case adjourned to Oct. 29Local | 16 Oct 2021 3:26 pm
The 31-year-old cabbie murder suspect appeared in Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts on Saturday morning and saw his case adjourned to October 29.
Matthew Choi Naam-sang, charged with murder, had yet to enter plea. He remained calm in the courtroom today.
He didn't apply to be released on bail as well. Until then he will be remanded at Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre.
The prosecution sought permission to retrieve two psychiatric reports first, doubting that Choi was troubled by mental disorders in the past.
The defense for Choi then said he graduated from university and has no trouble in understanding orders and instructions, neither is he diagnosed with any kind of disorder.
Judge May Chung Mung-sun approved the prosecution's request, and adjourned the case to October 29.
Choi allegedly murdered a 48-year-old taxi driver surnamed Wai on Eastern Street in Sai Wan on October 12.
