Committees to call for another meeting on third vaccine dose, says Sophia Chan

Scientific Committees for call for another meeting to discuss on detailed arrangements of administering the third dose of Covid-19 vaccines, said secretary for food and health Sophia Chan Siu-chee.

Speaking on a TV program, Chan said the committees will discuss when is best time for citizens to receive the third dose, and who needs to received the third dose, adding that they are now studying the data.

On encouraging elderly to get their jabs, Chan said apart from giving out same-day ticket to elders, a number of health center operators will offer pre-vaccination consultation services to elderly as well, which is expected to kick off in the third or fourth quarter.

She also pointed out that the city has seen no local confirmed cases for 50 days, and the health authorities will work hard to keep it going.

As of Friday, around 3.2 million citizens have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccines, and around 2.4 million have received the second dose.
