Get jab or no drinking and eating in office, Nan Fung Group warns staff

Nan Fung Group warns unvaccinated staff could be transferred to another position or banned from eating inside the office if they don't have valid medical reasons not to receive the jab.

The group sent an internal notice, informing employees that those who are fully vaccinated by the end of July could receive rewards, including four days of paid leave and free health checks.

An additional HK$500 will be given to the departments which have a vaccination rate of over 90 percent.

Yet, those who failed to get their jabs by the end of July may risk having “alternative working arrangements,” to maintain a safer office environment.

“Such may include but not limited to asking unvaccinated staff to conduct regular Covid testing, transferring to another position that may require less interactions with customers and colleagues, disallowing unvaccinated staff to eat any food or lunch within office area,” the notice wrote.

Meanwhile, Nan Fung also rolled out a lucky draw, with the winning employees splitting a cash prize of HK$100,000.

The new vaccination policy affects around 3,000 employees in the company.
