MTR announced that there is no train service between Hung Hom and Mong Kok East on the East Rail Line today.

MTR explained that the suspension took place due to the bifurcation works for the cross-harbour section of the East Rail Line.

The works involved in setting up the overhead electricity lines for the Mong Kok East-bound lane and other relevant modifications. It started at late night with over 100 staffers at different positions.

About 300 extra staffers have been arranged at stations of the East Rail Line to provide assistance to passengers. MTR also provides a point-to-point free shuttle bus service between Hung Hom and Kowloon Tong.

It reminded passengers to expect long travelling time as well.

MTR added that the overall operations are running smoothly and thanked passengers for their understanding.

Today is the fourth of the ten days this year to allow the construction works for the Shatin to Central Link, meaning that the suspension between Hung Hom and Mong kok East will take place for six more selected Sundays until October.
