A 4-year-old kindergartener has been infected as the city reports three new cases today, whereas the other two cases are imported cases.

The boy who contracted the coronavirus from an unknown source today is a student from class K1B of the HKVNS Alumni Association Kindergarten in Ho Man Tin. He last went to school on Wednesday and developed symptoms including fever and sore throat the same night.

Around 20 of his classmates and teachers will have to be quarantined at quarantine hotels for 14 days. The students will be accompanied by their caretakers during quarantine.

Health officials said the boy has stayed at Yee King Building in Ho Man Tin and Block 13 of Pak Tin Estate in Shek Kip Mei.

For the imported cases, the two were domestic workers who arrived in the city from Indonesia.

There were also fewer than five preliminary positive cases today. The city’s tally now stands at 11,822 confirmed cases.
