Hong Kong public broadcaster RTHK had received powder-filled letters this morning at its headquarters on Broadcast Drive in Kowloon Tong, according to sources.

Police officers were dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident.

The incident came as three top government officials yesterday also having received powder-filled letters, including Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Secretary for Security John Lee Ka-chui and Commissioner of Police Chris Tang Ping-keung.

The powder was identified as “flour” after an inspection by personnel from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau, which did not contain dangerous substances.

Following preliminary investigations, police listed the incident as a discovery of suspicious objects and the Central District crime unit would follow up on the case.
