Govt to launch outreach Covid vaccination program for enterprises

The government will launch an outreach Covid vaccination program next week, providing Covid jabs for staffers of the city’s enterprises and organizations, according to the Civil Service Bureau.

The bureau was said to be liaising with construction companies, public utilities, and non-governmental organizations in Hong Kong to push forward with the plan.

The outreach services will be provided by the contractors now running the community vaccination centers, with almost the same procedures of receiving the shots.

Both the Sinovac and BioNTech jabs will be available for the outreach services, the bureau added.

Meanwhile, infectious disease expert Dr Leung Chi-chiu agrees with the government’s plan, saying staffers working construction and those working in public utilities are the ones who came in contact with the public the most.

He also suggested that the outreach program should first be prioritized for large enterprises, while those smaller in size can be arranged with shuttles to take their staffers to get the jab at community vaccination centers.
