Hong Kong has recorded nine new confirmed Covid-19 cases – one local and eight imported – bringing the tally to 11,728 cases, according to the Centre for Health Protection.

Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the Centre for Health Protection's Communicable Disease Branch, said the one local case’s source of infection remains unknown.

The patient is a 23-year-old woman who lives in Block 10 of South Horizons Phase 2. She sought medical attention on April 20 after developing symptoms including a running nose. She was sampled the same day and later diagnosed with Covid.

She works at a company called Yes Style on 100 Kwai Cheong Road in Kwai Chung, her colleagues listed as close contacts were put under quarantine.

The eight imported cases today were returnees from the Philippines, India, the Netherlands, and Indonesia.
