One new local coronavirus patient among 10 confirmed

One local patient linked to another coronavirus patient and eight who arrived in the city are confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus disease in the 24 hours to midday.

Five of the confirmed coronavirus patients are from the Philippines (four women and a male) and three are Indonesian women.

Another coronavirus patient, who is a local resident, is also infected, but the source of the infection has not been identified, the Centre for Health Protection, reported.

The total infected has now risen to 11,550.

The patient with an unknown source of infection is a 70-year-old woman, a retiree, who was asymptomatic. She was admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital on April 6 for another medical condition and tested positive during her admission screening.

A total of 120 coronavrus patients have been recorded in the 14 days from March 25 to April 7, including 26 locals. The source of infection of nine of the 26 locals is not known, the CHP reported.
