Residents of 9-27 Pitt Street and 3 Tung On Street grounded as government issues second lockdown orderLocal | 26 Jan 2021 7:16 pm
The government has delineated a second "restricted area" in Yau Ma Tei at 7pm today, requiring persons within the area to stay in their premises and undergo compulsory testing in accordance with the arrangement by the Government.
The "restricted area" was said to cover a total of 11 buildings on 9-27 Pitt Street and 3 Tung On Street.
Authorities said the compulsory testing is expected to be completed before 6am tomorrow, meaning residents will be under lockdown for up to 11 hours.
The government has made the announcement at 7pm today, the same time the area went under lockdown.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said this morning that Hong Kong may see more "ambush-style lockdowns", to ensure future lockdowns are kept confidential so residents would not leave in advance.
