Cathay Cargo rolls out vaccine shipment tracking

Freight forwarders will be able to monitor vaccine shipments close to real-time through a tracking system that Cathay Pacific Cargo said it will provide in the first quarter. The service is free.

Called, Ultra Track, it will monitor information including temperature, GPS location, and humidity, using low-energy Bluetooth readers.

This will allow for fast and effective import and transhipment of coronavirus vaccines worldwide, Cathay Pacific Cargo, said.

The Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal is also being expanded to offer more temperature controlled capacity to handle more than seven million doses of vaccine.

There will be more cold storage coming online to handle a further 1.6 million doses.

Cathay Pacific Cargo operates a fleet of 14 Boeing 747-8F freighters and six 747-400ERFs (Extended Range Freighter.
