Central clinic receives suspicious white powder in mail

Police officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau were called to a clinic on the 12 floor of Manning House in Central at around 3pm today, after clinic staff filed a report of receiving a letter containing white powder in it.

Over 100 individuals in the building were evacuated.

The suspicious white powder was examined and later cleared by officers. The case is classified as suspicious object found.

According to reports, the white powder was said to be in a tin foil bag inside an A4 size white envelope. Officers said the powder was believed to be anesthesia drug powder.

The envelope had only the name and address of the clinic written down, without the recipient’s name.
