The election of the Person of the year 2020 organized by Backchat, an English program of RTHK is canceled as it seems to be "controlled", as claimed by the program.

The results of the election were supposed to be revealed this morning. However, it was announced that the election was canceled due to the unusual voting online and it seems to be controlled.

The 10 candidates of the election include Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the Centre for Health Protection's Communicable Disease Branch, RTHK journalist Nabela Qoser, Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor and Apple Daily.

Last Thursday, program host Hugh Chiverton revealed on the show that Chuang is leading in the voting, with Nabela Qoser, frontline cleaners of Hong Kong and Apple Daily following closely behind.
