Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the communicable disease branch of the Centre for Health Protection urges citizens to cease all social activities as Hong Kong record 92 Covid cases today, of which 89 are local cases.

Chuang said authorities have noticed that the Covid patients have all been to different social activities before they contracted the virus including dancing, drinking in bars and attending different social gatherings.

“If citizens continued these social activities or gatherings, the epidemic will spread quickly like wildfire,” said Chuang.

She also said the new social distancing measures implemented by the government will take one to two weeks to come into effect.
