The Hospital Authority's chief manager Dr Linda Yu Wai-ling confirmed in a health press conference this afternoon that a pediatric nurse has been tested preliminary positive for the coronavirus. Four babies the nurse had tended to are listed as close contacts needing quarantine.

Yu said the four babies were all tested negative for the virus, but for safety reasons, they will still be quarantined.

Yu also stressed that the nurse is not infected within the hospital as both the nurse and his kids have been in contact with another infected patient previously. The patient they have been in contact with was diagnosed on November 25.

The affected baby’s ward has admitted a total of 20 babies, seven of them have already been discharged. Authorities have since contacted the parties concerned notifying them to get tested.

Fifty other medical staff who works in the same ward have also undergone Covid testings, all test results came back negative.
