Mainland internships for HK youths will be further extended

Authorities will roll out a series of internship and sponsorship programs for youth to seek job opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area after the pandemic is under control, said the head of Home Affairs.

Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui Ying-wai said the Policy Address delivered by 
Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor this year pledge to support Hong Kong youths to seek opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.

“The Thematic Youth Internship Programmes to the Mainland will further extend to cover areas on aerospace technology, ecology, cultural preservation and archaeological research,” said Tsui.

He also added that the Funding Scheme for Youth Internship in the Mainland will provide internship opportunities at large mainland enterprises including Tencent, Huawei, Da-Jiang Innovations and Ant Group.

A task force will also be set up to promote Art Tech. East Kowloon Cultural Centre will be an experimental site to implement projects that integrate technology and arts.
